2 Christian Books that will Change your Life Forever

End Child Anxiety

A few months ago, I received the greatest gift from our Father; a second chance in life. The things I lived and the struggles that I faced are impossible to describe. Nonetheless, our Father rescued me without hesitation. He brought peace and salvation into my heart. Part of my healing process included reading Christian books. God speaks in different ways, and to me, books were one of those ways God helped me heal and gave me peace.

A Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

God put this book in my life. I remember that I was browsing in Amazon, when I stumbled into this book. I had no idea what it was about, but I just felt this nudge to buy it. So, I bought it. Later, I found out that this book had been translated into multiple languages, had sold millions of copies, and was in the New York Times Bestseller List for over 90 weeks! I didn’t know if this book was going to change my life, yet I decided to read it anyways. A few days passed after I started reading this book, and my life was already different.

The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren is intended to do just that, teach you how to live with purpose. Not just any purpose, but God’s purpose for your life. Moreover, Rick Warren takes the book a little further and included podcasts and a study sections to make sure the reader understands his/her purpose and how we can apply it to our current struggles and lives.

The wonderful thing about this book, is that it is divided in 40 chapters, with the intention that you read one chapter a day. Essentially, this book is a 40-day spiritual journey. Each day is a new topic, and new lesson. Rick Warren makes sure to cover pretty much everything about our life on Earth. The most important part of this book is that Rick uses our own Father’s words to teach us what our Father had already intended for us to learn through the Bible.

Honestly, if I had enough money on this Earth to buy a book to each and every single person in this planet, I would.

I can’t tell you how wonderful this book is! I made my husband read it with me, and the experience brought us closer to God and to each other. Then, I got my parents to read it (they are not the type to sit down and read a book from beginning to end) but guess what?! They read it and are planning to read it again! So, I highly encourage you to give it a try, with open arms and heart. God will speak, if you are willing to listen.

Anxious for Nothing by Max Lucado

Review written by Nashalie Rodriguez-Nieves

First, I don’t believe in coincidences but, I do believe in purposes. I started reading the book “Anxious for Nothing” of Max Lucado several times, but I just couldn’t find the motivation to finish it. Last year, I found myself in a horrible situation, in were I had to take a step back and reflect about what I needed to do to find my way back to God and His purpose in life. In the midst of it all, I remembered that I still had Max Lucado’s book in my drawer. Once I started reading it I felt as if the book was written for me. I understood that, at that moment, it was the right time to read it.

My experience with “Anxious for Nothing” was comforting. I learned that, most times, we allow ourselves to be carried away by anxiety, and the fear of not been able to find happiness. I also learned that there is not a single person that isn’t loved. Every individual is created for a divine purpose. We might not recognize it now but possibly in the future. I understood that God is not a religion, but that God is someone with whom you have a relationship.

God is our Father, and as our Father he listens and understands our human nature. Therefore, His perfect and unconditional love comfort us at all times, including in the most anxious moments of our lives. He gives us that peace that He can only give.

God never abandon His children. He is right here, right at this moment. He is with me, as I write this, and with you, waiting with open arms to receive your worries, and your heart. If you are experiencing anxiety and fear, this is the right book for you.
